CQ4 IFP presents “The Intensive,” a feature film, RT: 95 min., directed and edited by Shane D Rymer, written by and starring Franco Trombino, and produced by Cindy Bishop. The film also stars up-and-coming actors: Darlene Van Alstyne, Katarina Morhacova, Casey Preston, Lia Delia Trombino, and Erin Patricia. The film is currently in post-production and is festival bound for Fall 2009.

Film and Story Overview:
“The Intensive” is a film within a film romantic drama set and shot entirely in Boston with a Boston-based cast and crew. The story explores the relationships between writing, acting, and sensuality by following a screenplay writer who struggles with rewriting a seduction scene for his wife whom stars in the film. To free himself of his inhibitions and on the advice of his wife, the writer takes an “intensive” acting workshop run by the “Prima Donna” wife of the director. The writer’s plight is intensified as he battles between his jealousy over his wife’s “rehearsals” with the director and his interest in the provocative acting mentor.Who will cross the line first?

05.15.09 Production Live Online had a chance to interview Shane D Rymer, director, and Jon Rizzo, director of photography, at Boston Film Night on May 15th, 2009, where their feature film teaser-trailer was premiering.

Director’s Statement:
“The Intensive” written by Franco Trombino will be my directorial debut feature film and I give my thanks to Franco for trusting my vision to bring his screenplay to life. After reading the script the first time, I knew there would be tremendous challenges in making the film; and I think it was a bold venture for both of us from the moment Franco typed the first letter to my tearful call to “check the gates” on our wrap scene. Yet, Franco brought together a fantastic cast and crew and it was due solely to their dedication and hardwork that we could not only finish production but to do it at a high-quality level. I am incredibly thankful to Cindy Bishop for producing the film and her above and beyond the call of duty efforts. To the cast, especially Franco Trombino, Darlene Van Alstyne, Katarina Morhacova, and Casey Preston, I appreciate what you were able to bring to every set and my respect has deepened for your craft. I felt completely assured throughout production with Jon Rizzo as my director of photography and the utterly reliable, tried-and-true, John Gay, as my 1st AD. Thank you to Blythe Pistole who never missed a beat as our Executive PA, Craft Services, and Clapper and I take my hat off to Fritz Ceriales and every other member of the cast and crew. Finally, and again, my most sincere thanks and gratitude go to Franco for his inspiration and guidance to the cast and crew as well as his great performances.
